vacation all i ever wanted

Recently i went on vacation to fort de soto state park.  its about two hours away south of st. petersborg florida.  we stayed in a spot about 30 ft away from a nice cove where in the morning you could see all kinds of sweet birds like wood storks, pelicans, great and tri colored herons, and Anhingas.  Also if you were really quiet you could surprise the groups of racoons that are trying to break into the car.  yup all night long racoons are always trying to sneak into your campsite and steal your food.  it was hilarious. there were signs every where warning about this, so after every meal you have to put the food back in the car and lock it up. they were bold as hell. as soon as you werent looking they would mess with your stuff.  

Also it was fucking freezing down there. we were sheltered some by the trees, but the wind coming in dropped the temperature down to about 44 degrees (not an exaggeration!).  it was worth it though for the cold woke me up at about 830 every morning , and the second day i walked out to the water and saw dolphins playing around.  it was awesome!!  we also saw dolphins a few times from the bridges that are all over the place around there.

stopped by 66 fixed where i picked up a hipster cyst.  heard about a couple of bars and a place to get some vegan grub.  went to a place called rolled oats, which is like the harmony market of st. pete.  yuppie as fuck.  later that night we went to the emerald bar and i got drunk and played rummy with sarah.  at one point a girl walked up and was throwing herself at me, and started asking if i had any barcode tattoos. it took a while but we finally realized she was talking about blackflag tattoos.  i told her no. after some more awkwardness ( i mean i was sitting right next to sarah!) she finally told me that i was awesome, and then high fived sarah for being with such a cool guy. true story. the girl was obviously wasted, and it was hilarious.  the power of the beard is not to be trifled with!!

we also did some other shit like checked out the fort, and some beaches. rode a trolley, but one of the coolest things was the arboritum.  it was all about palm trees .palm trees are the shit.  i wont go into detail today but soon i will post some pictures and info about the palms i saw from around the world. 

now we are back and i am happy to have gotten to sleep in a warm bed, and to have eaten some ethos. i was going through withdrawals.

next time we are gonna try to get some other people to go with us so we can split the cost of the campsite, and have more people to do stuff with. let me know if your interested. it will probably be during the summer so we can snorkel and shit.
